Crazy how the world rocks 😉 For the past 36 years I have only almost exclusively listened to rap – still love it. But in the past couple weeks I legitimately fell in love with rock.

From – Poison, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Bad Company, Cheap Trick, Motley Crue, Dokken, AC/DC, Joan Jett, Blondie, Heart, Duran Duran, ZZ Top, ASIA, EUROPE, Scorpians, Whitesnake, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, WHO, Aerosmith…would you believe I never listened to any of these (for real).

The only way I learn is to dive in so…I bought 300+ cassettes to catch up on history, bought all Guitar Heros/ Rock band games, I am learning to play the electronic piano so I can eventually learn electric guitar and now I want to form a band. I scheduled the studio space for May 31, 2019.

Think of my approach as a deconstructed sandwich. Logo – done, Website – launched, Social handles – reserved, Posters – plastered…now I need a band 😉

The band is being pieced together based on my 36 years on earth – from the singer (who I met in college) to the literal Guitar Hero to the drummer from the 90s band Sweetwater. Still looking for a bassist tho. If you know anyone send my way.

My thought is to pull inspiration from 1977 to 1988 with a modern take. Also our band will need to up their showmanship. My wife and I have been to about 4 concerts in the past 4 weeks (all rock). The bands were awesome…but where was the show? Was very one sided – band played, left stage, crowd disbanded. Our band will ROCK! You will come to our show to forget the world outside the venue and you will PARTY! We live in an incredible still new age and music is art, sound and visual. I want to create the soundtrack of our lives.

To me rock is forward momentum. Anything you are actually doing you should be ROCKING! Once your comfortable – listen to rap. I put it like this – rock is the journey and rap is the destination.
